New Knitting tote, and remaining June Sock Yarns

So I have been looking for a bigger/sturdier knitting bag for a while now, and I have considered any number of bags.  I have a Silk bag from Lantern Moon now, but I don't want to wear it out.  I looked at the Haiku bags, and Namaste.  I have considered Jordana Page and Offhand Designs too.  But to my mind, $ 60 and up is too dear for a cloth or vinyl bag; knitting bag or not.  I think that $ 100 is too dear for a fabric bag, and the one bag that I do like, Zhivago at $ 220 is ridiculous.

So today I got a new knitting tote: What do I end up with?  Which one do you think I picked?  The Zhivago, which I have been talking about for months? Nope. Two words.  Coach. Leather.  I blew past my budget, but the bag will last forever.  My mom still has her 1968 Eastern Airlines Coach uniform purse, and it is in excellent shape.  What can I say? I fell in love with the bag, and love it FAR more than any of the other knitting totes.

Open Mouth, Insert Sock Hand Dyed Yarn Launched at KnitWitz!

So many of you have heard me speak about knitting socks, and sock knitters.  It is a not so open secret that I recently caved and joined the fold.  I blame Kathe for ordering the Jitterbug Sock yarn from Colinette, and Corina for the Magic Loop method.....

And as many of you know, when I cave, I cave in a big way.  I have a Ziploc big bag (X-Large, 10 GALLONS) worth full of sock yarn.  And you would think that I would stop there.  NO. Not me.  people at the lys warn knitters about me, for I am an enabler.  Oh, yes, I encourage others to purchase yarn.  And it is subtle... often, I don't even realize that I am doing it myself.

And in the vein of being an enabler, I had the bright idea to dye sock yarn for Knitwitz.  I took the first ten skeins of yarn in last night. 

From Left to Right they are:

Eudialyte

Opalite

Malachite

Sugalite and

Petosky Stone

Jane snapped up the Petosky Stone right away, but as of last night, the first four are still at Knitwitz.  The yarn retails for $12.50, and you need two skeins to make a pair of socks. 

I don't intend to repeat colorways (although it may happen unintentionally), so next week I am going to be bringing in at least one blue colorway, a red based colorway, and for the other three, who knows.  I do not intend to dye more than 10 "pairs" of skeins a month, but I may be persuaded to start a Knitwitz sock club if there is enough interest.
