From time to time I am able to indulge in a real honest to goodness soak in the tub, with the hottest water, a good book, and a cool beverage. Today, I broke into my stash of Basin Bath Bombs and plunked the 'Hidden Treasures' bomb into the water. Almost immediately, I was surrounded by a lovely strawberry scent which reminded me of something, but I was not certain what. Isn't it funny how songs and scents serve to 'jog' our memories?
It took me a while, but before leaving the bath, I realized that I was remembering the very first time I ever had scented, girlie soaps or shampoos. I was thirteen, and my Aunt and mother took me to Victoria's Secret for the first time. I was enchanted with all of the soaps and lotions. I tried to convince my mother to allow me to get the whole set of Strawberry bath products, but she said they were far too expensive. I was disappointed to be leaving the store without anything at all, but in the car, my Aunt surprised me with a bar of the the Strawberry soap.
I loved that soap, and used it up completely. I had not remembered that soap until today, and sharing this story of lost memory found is somehow a fitting return to blogging after such a prolonged absence.
